San Jose Medical Marijuana Patient Reviews

This place was terrible at best. mediocre bud at best. I walked in and left without anything. I think they presume that Santa Clara kids don't know what fire is. Amsterdam's Garden should be called Mexico's Garden.

Horrible parking! Dude in the back is hella awkward and not helpful at all! I was harassed in the parking lot by a man who threatened me while I was looking up directions to another club! The building says law firm in front and the parking lot next to the place says law firm parking only and it obviously is not the same building! I went in to the club waited at the door for 2 minutes without an answer! Once let in friendly service desk but the club itself sucks really hard! And when I asked about pricing he pointed to the board!

Great medical collective, with good parking. Safe commercial and professional area. Very nice employees, all 5 dispensaries I've visited so far have very nice employees. Attractive decor. Strong/fresh medicine and informative clerks. In general, convenience counts for a lot, and I appreciate the organized setup. Its pretty much like going to a pharmacy, but more comfy. There isn't any of that \"Bob Marley\" B.S. or cannabis culture ads displayed all over the place. . Just a classy ambiance. Wait time was about 10 minutes.

This is one of my favorite medical marijuana dispensaries. One of the few that carry edibles that I can feel. The staff is very knowledgeable, honest and friendly. Great selection, good parking and very safe. If you live in San Jose or are passing through this place is a must! Stop by and check them out. |

I would have given 5 stars if they had been a bit easier on me for having a driver's license that was expired for only four days. I came back a few days later with a temporary issued by the DMV and had an awesome experience. This is one of the best San Jose marijuana dispensaries I have ever been to. I like the one-on-one policy so your privacy as a patient is protected. The medicine at AG is super potent and their edibles are just as good. |

This place is a very good combination of quality and class. Even though I haven't had my prescription for very long; of the few clubs I have been to, this is the best one. |

If you are in a wheelchair, don't bother with this club, it has no handicap parking and there's a step to get in and they don't even have a ramp. Plus I called ahead to see if they sell JollyLollys and they put me on hold for 5 minutes and when came back they said they carry the pops so I drove all the way there and of course they don't carry the JollyLollys. They don't know what there doing and for them to not be wheelchair acceptable is not right. Plus the pops that I did get from them were bad, (bad flavor). I had to throw them out. Not edible at all. |

One person at a time - are you kidding me? It’s a room, it’s not even a cannabis club. They didn’t have more then like six kinds of weed. Two thumbs down! |

This place has 'Class'. The antique decor is warm and inviting - yet classy. The customer service is always with a smile. I am always greeted and treated with respect when I visit. Customer Service is Gold to me as I am an instructor for Customer Service techniques for a large company, and I appreciate good service when I get it. They have security cameras for safety but no metal detectors. I love the edibles. I buy the x1 dose lollypops and stock up for my bad days, when my spine acts up like at my son's football game 'no problem' I just eat my special dessert ;) and I am able to sit in the bleachers longer to watch him play. I also love the brownies but be careful with these. They say x3-4 doses, but for me one with low tolerance I can make x8. For seasoned users I would try 1/2. It is up to the patient really. They have a small selection of flowers but the selection they do have is 'Primo'. I bought some honey oil, but have not tried it so I cannot comment. Just wanted to let you know they carry an assortment of goodies. The prices are about average. Don't complain about prices. Just be glad we have people that care enough to open these places for us. Would you open one and risk all the dangers that go with it? Ok then. Just be thankful. Go check them out if you need some meds and want to visit a classy and cozy place. |

A solid, professional club that offers high quality medicinal strains. As a recovering spinal surgery patient, I can't say enough how thankful I am that alternative therapies are available. |

I've been a long time customer and it's great to see them expand since 2009. The buds are still top shelf organic, and they lowered their prices, which is great for all patients! |

Finally, a non ticky-tacky club in San Jose. They carried a wide variety of exotic strains that were super potent. I picked up an 1/8th of Hollywood Kush and Headband Elite, and both were fire! I love this place! |

One of the top clubs in San Jose right now. Top shelf meds with professional service. Prices could be a bit lower, but I'm willing to pay for an eighth for potent top shelf. |

hmmmm...I am reluctant to write this review because of personal consequences---I might have to wait in line (yipes) if the word gets around. YES the triple XXX Amsterdam's (FIRE) Angel is back for the Labor Day Weekend as well as some new heavily trichome laiden Green Kush. So go directly to AG, do not pass Go (unless you need to visit el banco and this is a time to think big). Snowcap, Hollywood Kush, Aussie Blue, Amnesia Haze---wow---it's like when you (could) go to a Duke Ellington concert wherethey would say "if you weren't dancing, you weren't there." You will not be sorry. I've been blown away consistently by these good folks since Late January 2010. What a beautiful trip it has been. It's a beautiful day. Whatever you love to do, you will probably love to do it even more after a visit to AG. Oh, and lastly, it is all about the the light, the fresh, the cure, and the love. All are in abundance at AG. |

I've been to a few clubs now and Amsterdam's garden is a class act. The staff is polite and knowledgeable, and the selection is top end. I love the one on one service with smiling faces. I've never waited longer than 10 minutes to get my medication. This is my club of choice. |

I heard a lot of good things about this place and I'm glad I tried. They had a lot of strains that I was looking for, but haven't been able to find in a while. The quality of bud is wonderful. The location is very discreet and I like how they have 1 person at a time in the bud tending room, so you get a lot of personal attention without feeling rushed. |

One of the best and classiest locations in San Jose. They carried about 14 strains and all were good. Good variety of potent concentrates and edibles. I definitely place this club on my top three list. The staff was generally helpful and seemed to do their best in assisting me, while juggling with other guests. I highly recommend checking out their Australian Blue and Amsterdam's Angel, fire buds! |

I like this club. From the first time I walked in I had a good feeling. The location and easy access is great. Entering through a round door gives you a feel of going back in time, in an age of Victorian lifestlye. The selection is not as big as other places, but the quality is excellent and the staff is always friendly. In fact, they have strains you'd be hard pressed to find elsewhere. I will be going back here and highly recommend this place. |

My first time at this collective and it was awesome! Everyone was very nice and informative. The buds were fabulous! I was getting tired of seeing the same strains pop up at every local dispensary, so this was a breath of fresh air. |

This place sucks big time, Small, dirty, and unprofessional. Pretty much a step up from the street seller. They wouldnt even except my temporary ID from the DMV a long with my Medical Card..... Find another Joint. |

I've always enjoyed going here not just for high quality medicine, but its nice to see the operators put some thought into creating an ambiance that actually matches the whole Amsterdam theme. Although the staff keeps changing, they are always professional and helpful. Definitely one of San Jose's best kept secrets! |

One of the classiest dispensaries in San Jose and my current favorite. I've noticed that most of their patients are older folks who are probably pickier than the average person. All their strains are truly unique and top shelf. The hardest decision I have to make every time is figuring out what to walk out with. I do have a personal budget on how much I can spend every week for meds, so I want the most for my money. I've come to realize you can't really find decent buds at under $50 an eighth. That's just the reality of things until medical marijuana is fully legalized. I like how they cover the taxes, so what you see is what you get. |

I enjoy going here because they always carry exotic strains you don't see at other places in the Bay Area. Picked up a 1/4 of Triple X yesterday and it was fire! |

Prime location off highway 880 and 101 makes visiting easy wherever I'm at. The bud tender was really chill and informational. He was to the point and not a lot of BS. They had a good variety of buds from mid to high grade, concentrates, and edibles. I ended up leaving with a 1/2 of Northern Lights and a 4 dose edible. Will be back for sure! |

I can't believe the very few people that gave this club 1 star? Another case of clubs sabotaging each other perhaps? As someone who has been going to Amsterdam's Garden since they first opened, they really deserve 5 stars. Let's start off with the location, which is conveniently located off a commercial strip off The Alameda. My work is only a few blocks away and I'm glad I don't have to drive to Santa Cruz or SF for my meds anymore. There is always plenty of parking in the front. The ambiance is really relaxing. |

Great and easy location. Very convenient. The staff was friendly and very cool. I got Amsterdam's Angel and it turned out so tasty and very strong! You could see the loaded trichomes even without a magnifying glass. I like to see lots of crystals on my bud! |

One word describes this place - garbage. Reminds me of what my dealer use to say to me in the early nineties, "a lot of stems, a few seeds, and you might get a little headache cause it's a little pre-mature." I'm glad somebody finally noticed too how all the bad reviews seem to disappear for this club on other sites? Not sure how that works or who greased who's wheels, but it makes me wonder if a lot of the outstanding reviews for this club on this page are written by employees or employees friends. Once a person sees this place though; a tiny club literally situated in a closet in a building of lawyers offices where you can get parked in almost every time you visit. If preemie nugs, a sketchy scene in a lawyers office, a weird parking situation, and in my opinion a dishonest staff who has removed honest reviews from other websites is your bag the Amsterdam Garden is the place for you. |

I really like their system of getting people in and out. Even though they are situated in a nice location, I'm not looking to hang out. I have a life and simply want quality meds quickly. This is the real reason I keep coming back. I have been to clubs that promised all these additional services like yoga, massage, accupuncture etc., and they never actually offer it! Not once have I seen these practitioners anywhere. It's not like I expect additional services from a cannabis club, but there's nothing I hate more than false advertising. |

In a nutshell: I have tried them all--if you want to stop fooling around, get what you need, not get ripped off, and do it all in a clean and safe environment, then Amsterdam's Garden is what you've been looking for. I don't Just want to shop in San Jose. I want the club to operate with class. I want my trip to be quick, I want the product to be good and decently priced, I want the club to not look like the CDC from the outside, I want it to be clean and safe on the inside, and I want the staff to be friendly and accommodating. Is that so much to ask? Am I being too picky? |

Everyone gives five stars too easily I think. Here's why I give Amsterdams garden a four star...I believe this place has about four important qualitys in a shop..hence the four stars...they have a unique location. professional residence. Never a line with random people u may feel uncomfortable around. They're half eighths are packaged the best in San Jose ...no little baggies ...they're products are always shown in line so you know what's in stock and they never outta the three places in san jose area sell dry harsh smoking meds. All in all this place is worth your while. I'll let you know when it goes under. Go to Amsterdam's Garden you won't be disappointed. |

Honestly this collective is not that bad, but I keep noticing that all the negative reviews on another website and yelp, keep disappearing. This is completely unacceptable especially when they have so many good reviews. I mean come on, 66 positive reviews on anohter wbesite and if 1 negative review appears it is taken down in a day or so. Please if you have a negative comment to say about them say it!! |

Great looking place from the outside and comfortable inside, but I was disappointed with the small selection of buds. I liked the free edible that I got for being a first timer. The bud tender looked like he was afraid of me and didn't say a word. So I just pointed and he rang me up. First and last time I'll be there. |

They have superior medicine, affordable prices, and a wide variety of strains. The staff are really knowledgeable about their meds. I appreciate their honesty, even with certain questions in which they were unsure about. I've been to clubs where the bud tender would just guess or flat out lie, and then later I find out otherwise. I also like how patient the bud tender was, he didn't rush me and allowed me enough time to choose my strains. |

Living on the peninsula, right between SF and San Jose, finding a decent club in my area has always been a problem. My initial feelings about Amsterdam's Garden were very positive. I like how they are located in an appropriate, safe area along The Alameda strip. I continue to be satisfied with the service and quality of meds that I receive from A.G. There is just something about that Australian Blue that is so amazing. It's the one strain in my medicine cabinet that I can always count on! |

Their customer service is first rate! I came in the lobby area and was instantly greeted by a very professional guy. He showed me how to register and within 5 minutes, I was in the bud-tending room, which was very discreet. It felt more like a pharmacy than a typical club. I got an eight of Purple Princess and an eight of Australian Blue which was amazingly potent! One of the best smokes of my life. Prices ranged, but a little goes a long way, since I didn't have to use as much to get a good hit. Highly recommend to my friends. |

Stopped by this place last week through a friend's referral. I was driving to Santa Cruz/SF the entire time, when it was a few blocks from my house the whole time. I love the comfortable atmosphere. Tried their Australian Blue which was very impressive and incredibly high grade. Check out this place for quality. |

This is such a Great Club! So Much Fire! A++ buds & friendly staff that Actually Know What They Are Talking About. No tax, good prices, great specials, cool staff, and I recommend their Super Kush because it has Hindu and Northern Lights, my favorite indicas combined! Cant say enough good things about these guys for real. |

I appreciate their discreet and safe location. Many of these places are in industrialized or unsafe locations. This was also the closest club to my house. After my first experience, I knew that this was going to be my new club! They have superior buds and great prices. There is no sales tax or hidden pricing, so you really get what you pay for. I walked out with the best meds, and a free edible on top of that. Each time I come in there is something new! They are always evolving and upgrading their services, which is nice. |

One of the finer clubs in San Jose. These guys have the most incredible medication I've ever seen and reasonable prices to boot! A charming "cannabis bistro" that I give only 3-stars because of limited selection. However, unless you insist on 57-varieties or 101-flavors, you should check out this tiny jewelry box of a "bud bar." I call it "Hamsterdam," but I like going there because the shop is almost as cute as the friendly receptionist. |

Man, I went a few days ago and someone dropped a dime on me because my fender was 1 inch into a red zone. I guess the neighbors are unhappy about the club and call 911 all the time. I won't go back. The hassling ain't worth it. |

Even though I haven't been to all the new places in the south bay, I have been to enough to know when a collective has done it right. Top grade, organic meds, beautiful and safe location, friendly staff, and easy verification. They have a wide selection of sativas, which is good for me. Best of all, they are flexible with my budget! I was $5 short, but the bud tender still let me choose whatever I wanted. I highly recommend Amsterdam's Garden to all my friends. |

They have a great selection of kushes: O.G, Platinum, Bubba etc. Also checkout their Blue Dream, which is what BD is supposed to look like! I've had BD from other dispensaries that turned out to be crappy bud. Checking in was fast and I just felt very welcomed and comfortable. Bud tender knew what he was talking about and was very kind in helping me answer all my questions. Prices are moderate, but quality is the highest I've seen. I ended up with 1/4 Headband, Blue Dream and 1/8 of Platinum OG Kush. I highly recommend! |

I bought the Candy Cane Kush, and it's probably the best strain I have ever had in all of San Jose. I only got an eighth, but I hope they don't run out. This place is at the top of my list of clubs in San Jose as far as high quality strains is concerned. The staff is both professional and personable. Getting verified was quick and easy. The bud-tender was patient and asked about my conditions before proceeding to recommend the different strains. Price was reasonable. They certainly are not the cheapest place in town, but not the most expensive either. A plus is no taxes, so you are really getting a good deal overall. You really get what you pay for. The prices ranged from $35-$60. This place does have options for the cost-conscious as well as people who want amazing quality. |

Prices are very fair, considering there is no tax. Their 8th's go from $40-60 depending if you want standard or high grade. Their free edibles are always a treat and seem to get better each time. What makes this club stand out to me is the quality of medicine. Besides a few clubs in SF, this place is amongst the top clubs in the Bay Area. Their Widow and Train Wreck are solid strains that are good every time. Plenty of parking in the front and nice professional location. |

I came after work and was the only female for about 15 minutes. The lobby was beautiful, but it was a bit strange for me. The bud tender is extremely mature for her age and was so helpful! She was also professional and knew a lot. She was patient and flexible - just a great listener who made me feel very comfortable, never rushed.I left when it was dark and a gentleman who worked in the front lobby walked me to my car. So far my experience has been positive with most of the San Jose clubs. Things worth mentioning: -Super Clean |

Well, I didn't want to give this club a bad review as I used to like this club, but I have seen them be lazy now twice and I will never go back. I was in the Dispensary the day the previous Reviewer, Michael S., was in and it was after 4:30pm but before 5pm and Amsterdam Garden Staff only called the Patient ID Center for verification on Michael's card and not his Dr. I also saw them do this the other day with another patient. This is however not what is supposed to be done. The law states that all that is needed to obtain Medical Cannabis is a Dr.'s Recommendation. So like the more reputable clubs do, they call your Dr. not the Patient ID Center. This is the only call any Dispensary should make. The card from the Patient ID Center, be it a State or County, is a luxury and not necessary. |

I read their menu before stopping by today so I had an idea of what I wanted. Their medicine and location exceeded what I expected. This is by far the best club I've ever been to. They hit every aspect that makes a good club: good medicine, beautiful/safe location, friendly/knowledgeable staff, easy verification. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much from a San Jose club, because it's a relatively new concept over here, but their standards rival that of the top clubs in L.A. and San Francisco. |

Very classy collective. I love this place so much I can't stop spreading the good word. Its refreshing to see a club that has it's own signature style. I can't stand it when people are unoriginal and copy each other! This place is like taking a trip to the candy store! I can't believe there are haters dissing this place? Probably people from the other clubs. I guess when you are at the top, there are always going to be people ready to be negative. |

I give it straight 5 out of 5. The staff was beyond friendly and the bud-tender was very knowledgeable on her stuff, which is always nice. I was verified in 2 minutes! I like how there is no sales tax. Their prices are straight forward and you get the choice of spending more or less. The medium grade purple urkle actually looked very good, but being picky, I'd rather pay an extra $10 bucks for the best. I got 3/8 of Widow and the quality blew me away! Also got a free Bliss edible cupcake. This is a good place to pick up meds quickly without all the fuss. If you are looking for a hangout spot, this is not the place. |

One of the reasons I keep coming back is the quality of their Rx's is truly one of a kind. Every time I've tried out a new strain on their menu, it's always good. I don't mind making the drive to San Jose either, because the few clubs in town just don't cut it. |

I had a great experience at this club. The building is exactly what they advertise online, and it is very beautiful inside. I appreciated their menu was exactly what they advertised as well. The staff was friendly and was very knowledgeable about their meds. You just tell them what your symptoms are and they go through your choices thoroughly. I got their Master Kush. It was top of the line quality. Exactly what they told me: special unique strain because it is an indica that helps you with pain, but won't knock you out. It is a good type of med for me to use at work during the day. I would recommend this club to my friends. Hope that helps everyone! |

What a joke this club is. Not only did I walk in with a raised seal Dr.'s recommendation from Dr. Lucido in Berkeley, but I also had my card from the Patient ID Center in Oakland. I tried to explain to the heavily medicated staff that the card from the ID Center wasn't necessary and all they needed was my recommendation from Dr. Lucido. The Staff proceeded to tell me that people are forging Dr.'s recommendations and they won't honor anybody's. You only need a raised seal Dr.'s recommendation to obtain Medical Marijuana. Staff - Please educate yourself in the laws of California. |

Our staff tried to verify Michael's recommendation, however, it was "invalid". We checked 2 more times and even called his doctor's office, once again all attempts were unsuccessful. We really have no reason to deny anyone their medicine, as long as their recommendation is valid. It is simple as that. We also believe it is the patient's responsibility to make sure their doctor or whoever is writing them the recommendation, that their information has been processed before they walk into any club. Although, we don't question the legitimacy of Michael's recommendation, our staff did "the right thing" by denying a patient who's recommendation is unverifiable. Michael may be used to some clubs who just glance at recommendations and do not really check, however, we do not operate that way. We are just trying to protect ourselves, nothing personal . . For the record, a number of clubs have been getting shut down because under cover police have been using fake recommendations to see which clubs "actually check". |

I just checked them out today and the best way to describe them is quality. I have tried many San Jose clubs, and can honestly say they are the best medicine wise. Its too bad they don't carry clones, but besides that, top notched. |

Although, they stopped delivering, the prices have went down which is cool. Their meds are always superior. |

I have been disabled since 2004 and they were very helpful in helping me pick out my medicine. When I presented my Medicare card, I got 10% off---thank you |

Coming from Palo Alto, I was not satisfied with the local clubs around my area, so I have been going to San Jose clubs ever since. Amsterdam's Garden is one of the best I ever tried. They had quality strains and the staff was professional and patient. |

Good medicine and service. They had some really unique strains that aren't available in the Bay Area. |
