I came back up after I ran out of Jollee, where is the big homie at the door? For a security guard, he is very friendly and never makes me feel like a criminal. The door guy at other places makes me turn around and raise my hands up like it's jail, but not here. That's why SCPC gets my money.

I miss some stuff that this spot had, like Halloween and good lavender or purples. It made me remember why I just ended up getting the jolee from here. I did get a lot of hash, but it was wet and you had to be careful with it or it would turn to oil and turn moldy because it was wet. I took the "FCMD" and was able to work it in my hands and squeeze out a lot of water. That's just bs. What if I had a crappy immune system or cancer? The medicine could kill me then. The powder hash is hit and miss. It could be good, but you just don't know. Because you can't smell it, and if you could smell it it would be from some stuff that has been out all day.

I got my usual and left. The staff was same, trying to be nice. Not sure I'll be back.

Patients beware!!! Unless you like paying for 80% of what you're supposed to get, avoid this place like it was the D.E.A. office!!! Personally, I like to go to places that consistently overweigh their grams, eights, quarters, half's and so on by at least 10%. Do yourself a favor and drive to the Bay area or Sacramento for some real potent and extra heavy deals. They're the only business in town so they will raise prices, short their sacks and their patients because they have no other options, all in a vain attempt to make as much money as they can in a non-profit industry. This is what gives medical cannabis a bad name/reputation. Pretty pathetic.

Ok, so I was going to give this place 5 stars, but I guess I'm just very picky. I was visiting from out of town and heard about this place from some friends, so I checked it out. I found their parking lot across the street and then there was a nice guy at the door with some metal detector and stuff. I got verified a lot faster than what I'm used to, and I got a card with them! It seemed clean too, and the girl was wearing a lab coat like a doctor, very professional! In the dispensary they have a lot of strains, all on a board on the wall, and then they have them in jars so you can smell them and stuff on the counters! They gave me a free j of some ok stuff, but they have a whole list of different ones they sell! I bought some crazy jollee extract I heard about, it looks like a broken piece of glass! And some crazy jack herer and a gram of this bomb purple called blue cross! It's like super frosty! Anyways, I'd recommend this club for anyone who wants a chill experience and some bomb, high grade medicine!

I used to prefer this dispensary, although they don't give medicine in jars and some of the employees there are pompous, arrogant, or generally know nothing about marijuana or are apathetic about their jobs. Whatever the case, I have found strains there that I enjoy; though they are severely overpriced and overtaxed. The edibles are mediocre at best, and hardly had an affect on me.

The reason I will not be frequenting this dispensary anymore is the fact that I have seen on several occasions people with pets in the facility. I myself had previously brought my pet rat, who sits very calmly on my shoulder at all times. The employees welcomed me as usual and were receptive of the rat and asking questions about him and wanting to pet him. However, when I was doing errands today with my rat, they refused my entrance. When just a week ago, I was there with him and they didn't say a word. They said pets are not allowed in the building.

After I was a loyal patient/customer, they thought they could slip me some bunk crap. I told them I was on a budget and need to get by until tomorrow. I asked what was better, a 1/16 of Lavender or the pre-rolls of Lav for 10. I had 30 $ so I got 3 pre rolls because she said they were 1 gram each. Good deal, huh? Nope, becasue the preRolls were not Lavender. Instead they were some outdoor white rhino or something. I know my indica. The girl that runs it hires all her friends and has them dress up so they can rip everybody off. They act like teases. All I know is once I caught them, they took me in the room and tried to yell at me and took my card and said I was rude. I just told them I don't like being ripped off so don't sell stuff and label them, then try to pass bunk medicine.

I've been a consistent patient with the SCPC for years now and when I saw all the new dispensaries opening up recently I was relieved on not having to make the commute to Santa Cruz for my medicine! Unfortunately, that was a quick let down when I went to 5 of the San Jose clubs and all were a huge disappointment! I have continued to make the commute, knowing that there will never be a time I will be let down. Prices have even dropped and they have been getting in a lot of price cuts on a weekly basis! So in the end I will say that the SCPC is a place you can be comfortable, timely, spoken to like a real patient, and a huge thing is they operate 100% legally all the way down to the taxes!!! By the way it's a mandatory state law by the board of equalization! This club should be voted for the "model" club for the whole state of California! Thank you SCPC!!!!

Now that I've been over the hill I can say, the product here is $5-10 per eighth too expensive. $65 is too high for the quality they carry.

To answer the question why they make a separate card, they make you have a separate card so they can take it away if they want. Watch out for the bait and switch specials. You go in a couple of hours after they open and there are no specials left. Only high end stuff.

One star for the nice doorman and one for the nice people inside and a third star for the nice way they treated me...before the bait and switch thing.

What I do not understand is how an organization so dedicated to legitimacy and staying legal can at the same time continue to charge, for anything even approaching proper medical quality, a minimum price of $55 per eighth, plus tax.

From a practical perspective, once the tax is added, you're looking at a sixty dollar eighth of medicine -- total black market pricing. Although I totally support the SCPC in their rigorous evaluation process and their dedication to keeping things legitimate, at the same time, the continued black market pricing structure (and the obvious profit motives behind these prices) make both the Santa Cruz Patients' Collective and the area's Cannabis movement as a whole look very bad.

No way in hell does it cost that much to grow, people. Rather, patients are getting ripped off so that a certain few can continue with their out of control, bling-bling lifestyles.

Just my two cents' worth. Take it or leave it.

Pretty nice dispensary. Prices are a bit high (I paid 60 + tax so 65 for an 8th of white widow which is pricey when im used to paying 55 tops). I got 2 edibles, one was a cookie (really strong and only 6 bucks) and then i got a cannakrispie (6 bucks and i didn\'t even feel it, no joke). I liked how they have all the bud out in containers and you can just go to town grabbing at them and checking them out. A lot better than having a budtender have to keep going back to grab strains
All in all i thought they were pretty good. I would only visit them if I was in SC. Rather drive to the bay or la for cheap prices.

Until recently, I had never made the journey to Santa Cruz. This past weekend I took the time to add the Santa Cruz Patients Collective to my list.

Upon entering, a very polite large fellow invited me in, checked my paperwork and asked me to take a seat so that I could be processed. The metal detector was a bit daunting, but I'd rather be safe than?

After a quick intake routine, I was given the rules and a SCPC photo ID so that in the future, I can enter with no delay. Upon entering the dispensary, I found a very light atmosphere with a medical look and feel. The staff were wearing smocks and apparently took their jobs very seriously. I played naive and allowed them to guide me through their elaborate selection.

They offered about 30 varieties. Sizes were from 1 gram to ounces. Unlike many dispensarys, the strains seemed to be for the most part properly named. The quality of their entire line was well above average, and most were organically grown which is very important to me as I have chemical sensitivities.

I was throughly impressed with their extract selection. From the lowly green kief to the ultimate jollee extract. A special mention of their SCFM, a full melt hash that is now my favorite cold water extract bar none!

Their edible line was rather small. I bought one of each and found the mini brownies were as effective as most edibles priced much higher! WOW!

I only purchased three eights, Bubba Kush, Lavender and Jack Herer, and worth every penny. They do charge sales tax, but if they didn't this day and time, they'd be shady. It's the law and the price we all pay to legally obtain our meds.

I was given a nice fat pre-roll for being a first timer and treated more like a friend than a newbie. As I was leaving, I was informed I could return more than once a day. I took them up on the second visit and purchased 6 different edibles, .25 gram of jollee, 1 gram of SCFM, 1 gram of honey bud, .5 gram of Amber Ice, quarter ounce of a lovely outdoor purple erkel, eigth of Train Wreck, and an eigth of Bling.

I have found my new facility for obtaining my meds. A once a month visit to Santa Cruz will be well worth the time and gas if the experience I had is the norm. I'll let you know!

Strains and prices on the wall with all the varieties in jars to view and smell. Seemed to have a decent selection--nice edibles and good looking oil. Tried the "Jollee" hash/oil and it is awesome! No need to overdo it on this stuff: it grows in your lungs!

Free joint with your first visit and discounts with quantity purchases. Expensive though! Tax is not absorbed by the store: It is payed by you/us... Good to get some fun stuff and novelties. Not a place to get everyday smoke B'cuzz of the prices...

Park near the red fence with a railroad on the other side, then walk to the street corner of the white building across the street. There is a florescent green cross sign in the window. Walk in, present your cards, fill out paper work, and they call you back to create a new card that is only valid at this dispensary. Next time you just bring ID/license and this new card. Gotta pay $5 if you lose it though. That was the weird part.

Inside the show room are around 20 jars of different 8ths ranging from $45 to $60 PLUS TAX sitting on a cabinet. The menu is on the left wall instead of over the cash registers. They let me have at the jars, and I inspected every single one. The quality to price ratio was pretty good. I liked the weed selection more than Greenway, but not at much as other places I've seen north of San Jose. I wasn't interested in alternative products on this visit, but it looked like they had a small case with a bit of everything, from oils to edibles. A big LCD screen adds everything up with tax before you buy and they take visa/mastercard. They gave me a free pre-rolled joint of the B grade for signing up!! (A $7.50+tax value!)
